Serenity Lane is committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients, adapting our treatment modality to meet the changing needs of those afflicted with the disease of addiction.
The latest innovation in our services is a separate program for young adults ages 18-24.
Our nation is facing a problem of epidemic proportions regarding opiate use. Our records show the majority of our residential patients between the ages of 18 and 24 are addicted to opiates.
As a result, a team of Serenity Lane's most talented and experienced clinical experts came together to devise a plan of action. In early 2012 Serenity Lane initiated a separate program for young men ages 18-24. Soon after, a program specifically for young women was added.
The main challenge of the young brain is impulsivity. With fewer obligations and responsibilities, young people have difficulty conceptualizing the future consequences of their actions.
The Young Adults's Program, involves a higher level of intensity, focusing on adjusting behavior through increased accountability and impulse control.
The intention is for each young person to leave the program with a firm footing on the road to recovery.
The Young Adult's Program is highly structured featuring:
With counselors assigned to each gender-specific group, program participants receive direct contact with their facilitators seven days a week.
Building on the effectiveness of the Young Adult's residential program, specific outpatient programs and recovery support groups have been established to create more continuity and motivate these patients to continue their recommended treatment course.
Since the program's inception there has been a significant decrease in problematic discharges from our facility, with more young people successfully transitioning through each level of care.
